About Lucie
Hello! I’m Lucie, a French-American living in NYC.
With a strong academic background in French and English languages and literature, I've been tutoring for 7 years one-on-one, with middle and high-schoolers whose ages have ranged from 10 to 17.
After graduating high-school Magna Cum Laude with a Literary Baccalauréat, in an American Section OIB (International Option for the Baccalauréat), I studied in Paris for two years of “Literary CPGE", very intensive higher education classes which act as a preparatory course for enrolment in one of the higher schools “Ecole Normale Supérieure” in France. I was then admitted to the English Department of one of those schools, ranking 6th on the national written exam. I pursued my studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude from a Liberal Arts Bachelor’s in Literature and Arts. In 2024 I graduated from a Double Master's in English and Cinema studies with Université de Paris Cité. I landed in New York for the second year of that degree, as an exchange student at New York University, and I haven't left since.

My approach is student-centric, catering to the individual needs and skills of each child. I lean towards experiential learning methods that prioritise hands-on learning, active participation and self-initiative.
We will discuss the student’s current assignments and determine together learning goals. I will then propose autonomous work strategies to strengthen their comprehension and analytical skills.
I also like to work with personal projects and through art, helping students come to knowledge and deep understanding of specific subjects by thinking outside the box. I strongly believe that learning can be fun and empowering, and aim to communicate my passion for learning to my students.
As a natural optimist, I know how to motivate students, stay positive and be a patient presence to guide them through the school year.
