About Gaelle
Bonjour! I am a London-based tutor from France. I come from the beautiful, lake-side town of Annecy, located near the Swiss border. Whenever I get the chance, I visit my family to swim in the lake's vivifying water, hike up the surrounding mountains and eat lots of cheese, bread and pastries.
After many twists and turns in my professional journey, I decided to devote myself to teaching my native langue. It is a desire to share my love of the French language and culture, and belief that learning is most effective and fulfilling in a one-to-one environment, which led me down this path. It's been four years now, and I still find every lesson stimulating and gratifying.
I was lucky to have received an excellent education from secondary school to higher education. I completed my A-levels at an international school in Geneva, Switzerland, where I studied English Language & Literature, French Language & Literature and History. I went on to do a Bachelor's Degree in Religion, Philosophy & Ethics at King's College London, followed by a Master's Degree in Journalism at City, University of London. I worked as a staff writer for a while, but quickly realised that I wanted to work directly with people rather than sit in front of a screen writing articles I didn't believe in. Now I'm here!

Having worked as a Teaching Assistant for students with special educational needs, I know that one size does not fit all when it comes to learning. I exercise great care in adapting teaching material to each student's learning style and personal interests.
Lessons are typically 1-hour long, and are thoughtfully planned and delivered to achieve the student's learning goals. The first lesson is free, and serves as an opportunity for us to get to know each other and pin down your learning goals.
It is important for me that lessons are fun and engaging as well as challenging. To ensure that students remain motivated and inspired to learn, I tailor lessons to their personal interests as much as possible.
I have developed and perfected my techniques and teaching methodologies through years of tutoring adults at a beginner level and A-level students. I picked up many skills, especially my flexibility and patience, from working as a Teaching Assistant for students with special educational needs.
