About Michel
I am a qualified BC French Immersion teacher with 30 years of experience, having taught elementary and high school. The last 5 years, I taught senior classes, including Fral 12, AP French 12 and DELF (B2). I hold a BA in French from UBC.

My role as an educator is to make the student understand, react and take action. To that end, I believe that all students are capable of learning, albeit at different rates and at different motivation levels. A good educator is one to bring out the best out of all students. At the beginning of the school year, I set the tone for the class with my expectations in a fair and clear manner. As much as possible, I listen to the students and compromise if there is a need. Ultimately, I am firm and fair in my decisions. I also try to make my classroom less of an intimidating but more of a welcoming environment. In fact, some of my students have commented how my courses, which teach a foreign language in nature, are the ones they look forward to attending because it felt like it was a small community on its own.

Details
For senior classes, the rate is $40/hour.
Students will be allowed the first cancellation of less than one day's notice free of charge. Subsequently, the student will be charged a half-hour rate for cancellations of less than a 24 hour notice.
No charge will be assessed if the cancellation notice is given more than 24 hours before the lesson.
