About Katia
I moved to Australia in Jan 2025. I volunteered at Melville Senior High School as an Italian teacher assistant during the first term and recently moved to Melbourne, where I would like to continue teaching Italian. I studied English and French in middle school, Portuguese and German at the University of Florence, so I know what it means to learn a language. I have a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures. In 2020, I obtained the DITALS Level I, a certification of competence for teaching Italian to foreigners offered by the University of Siena. From September 23 to June 24 I taught English in a primary school in Lucca, where I am usually based. At the same time, I was attending a Professional Master in Teaching Italian to Foreigners, which allowed me to do a two-month internship at the University of Florence.

My lessons are for all levels and all ages, so I am very flexible about my teaching style.
Having taught English to children from 5 to 10 years old, I have often used games, songs, flash cards, videos, and fun projects to facilitate learning and don't let them get bored.
During my internship with university students, I have instead used different techniques (conversations on a topic, correction of their written works and pronunciation, group work, video projection).
