About Melanie

I am a 46 year old successful tutor offering classes in Spanish language and culture, French and English as a foreign language (EFL). I hold full membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists for both Spanish and French which is a mark of recognition for my advanced language skills. As well as having a postgraduate degree in translation and interpreting, I have lived and worked in France for two years and Spain for twenty years.

About the lesson

Currently I am tutoring beginners and advanced level adults, and GCSE level lessons on a private basis. I also have experience with children and specific materials for them. Do you need individual conversation classes for GCSE? Would you like to know how to communicate effectively in Spanish or French for your next holiday? Do you have a language component of an undergraduate degree which you find challenging? I am the solution to your problem! My approach to tutoring, in a nutshell, is to mix fun exercises with detailed understanding of the fundamentals of the subject you wish to progress in. Please get in touch and we can talk about your specific needs!

Perfect! Melanie is very knowledgeable,
friendly, approachable, and supportive. She assessed my son and ensured she took things at his pace, covering all the gaps. I feel confident that her approach is right for us.

Melanie's response
Alexander is a very capable young man, who speaks several languages already, plays music and does sport. With practice and support from the tutor he will be able to master his Year 7 Spanish.

Melanie taught me Spanish whilst I was planning to move to Mallorca where I now live. As an older learner I needed someone with patience who could instil confidence in me. I discovered Melanie through an advertisement and had my lessons online. We clicked immediately. Melanie has an invaluable way of teaching as the lessons are fun as she shares her experiences of learning the language and living in Spain. The grammar is provided and Melanie sussed out my learning style and suited the lessons to match my needs. She has a positive outlook, is flexible and makes learning a pleasure. I recommend Melanie highly as a teacher and cannot wait to resume my lessons with her. 10 out of 10 from me.
