About Nikolai
I lived in Montreal for the most part of my life and graduated in a French speaking high school. I have an excellent knowledge of French grammatical structures, culture, tradition, and literature (both French and French-Canadian). After high school, I attended Dawson and did my bachelor’s degree at Concordia where I perfected my English. At my leisure time, I always read classical novels in both these languages and write personal thoughts about them.
Since my college years, I am very much interested in languages. I learned and practiced a lot in this field and for the time being, I am perfectly fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
Speaking about fluency, I certainly mean speaking, reading, writing, and translation. During my studies at Concordia and McGill Universities, I acquired considerable experience of analyzing complicated texts mostly related with History and Politics in French and English.
Later, I gained some experience in teaching and tutoring foreign languages. Indeed, in the field of linguistics, I acquired enough knowledge to share it now with less-experienced students. That is why in December last year, I have successfully completed my TEFL classes (Teaching English Foreign Language).
My extensive knowledge to perceive, understand, and capture the slightest nuances of language in both above-mentioned languages form a solid foundation of my strengths and capacities.

My teaching methods are based on a 40-60 (me explaining the topic for 40% of the time and letting the students speak for the rest of it) rate. I will briefly explain the subject while asking questions to the students. I will encourage them to open-up about their own experiences and thus making useful associations with their personal knowledge and the themes thought in class.
