About Yogi
**Short Bio:**
Born and raised in the vibrant heart of Mexico City, I have been surrounded by a rich linguistic environment all my life. My mother, a university professor and lawyer, exposed me to academic and professional Spanish from an early age, while my extended family, including my father, provided a contrasting exposure to street slang and everyday conversations. This duality has given me a unique mastery of the Spanish language, from its most formal expressions to its most casual.
Interestingly, my journey with language began with a speech impediment, starting with Nahuatl and some French before fully transitioning to Spanish. This experience ignited a lifelong curiosity about pronunciation and the diverse use of words across Spanish-speaking cultures. At age 12, I was immersed in Puerto Rican Spanish, which my stepdad proudly considered "the best Spanish in the world."
With [number] years of experience teaching Spanish to students of all levels, I have developed a teaching approach that emphasizes cultural immersion, practical communication skills, and a deep understanding of language nuances. I have also tested with the highest certifications, achieving an exceptional score of 160 out of 165 on the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB).
My travels have taken me across the globe, where I've discovered how Spanish, as the mother tongue derived from Castellano, evolves in different regions.
