About Yasha

Hi! Hola! My name is Yasha and I was born in Spain but moved to London about 15 years ago now. I graduated from University of Greenwich with a Psychology Degree.

After finishing my degree, I started working in a Primary school as a Teaching Assistant for a Year 5 classroom and here, I gained a lot of knowledge of what is life in school, the role of a teacher and everything else that you gain from working in this environment and that, inspired me to pursue a teaching career path.

More recently, I gained my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification during a placement in Thailand, where I had the opportunity to experience an incredible culture while teaching English to students aged 7 to 15 .

I have been working as a Spanish Tutor online in my spare time for 2 years now to, children and adults and it has been really enjoyable so far. I want to give the opportunity to those who want to learn this language, either for pleasure, for exams or simply to become fluent! I believe being fluent in Spanish can have a massive positive impact in your life and I would love to make that possible.

About the lesson

I am originally from Spain, Madrid so my style of teaching does involve teaching Castilian Spanish. I like to summarise my tutoring sessions as fun, friendly and engaging. I would firstly get to know the goals/objectives of my student first and understand what they want to get out of the tutoring sessions. Thus, depending on the student, I would usually start from there and work my way from the very basic knowledge of Spanish towards a higher standard of Spanish that would involve: speaking, reading, listening comprehension and writing.

I prioritise my student's objectives and I prepare lessons ahead in order to have a structured lesson with key objectives to fulfil. I also have experience tutoring GCSE students, in this case I would work with the student to maximise their learning towards achieving high marks for their GCSE papers. For these students, I will provide worksheets and materials based on their current exam board. The typical length I recommend is usually 1 hour long as this gives time to go through the whole lesson planned. I have been tutoring Spanish for 2 years via online and I hold a BSc Hons Psychology Degree, A* Spanish GCSE and A Spanish A Level qualification as well as a TESOL qualification.

Yasha, who has been an incredible tutor and someone I trust wholeheartedly. Working with her has been a truly positive experience.
From the very beginning, she made me feel comfortable and supported. She is patient, kind, and always takes the time to make sure concepts are fully understood.
What I appreciate most about her is how genuinely invested she is in helping her students succeed.
She communicates clearly, follows through on her commitments, and creates a safe, respectful learning environment. Yasha is a caring and thoughtful person who truly enjoys teaching.
She is the kind of tutor who goes above and beyond, I would highly recommend Yasha to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely caring tutor.
