About Sarah
I have been teaching Japanese for more than 4 years now - around 3 years helping exchange students to learn Japanese when I was in university and 1.5 years teaching private lessons with the students I found here in Melbourne. The Japanese level of my students range from beginner to intermediate, and the frequency and the content we use in class vary too. But most importantly, I prioritise what each student want to improve and learn in class.
As explained above, I am capable of teaching language learners of any age, and I think I am quite good at explaining difficult things about language in simple words and good examples. In addition, I am very patient and friendly, so there is no need to be afraid of making mistakes when studying with me :)
I have my own materials to teach if you don't have any, so don't worry about it at all!

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah. I'm 24 years old, and I am currently a master student of development studies at Melbourne University. Although I was born and raised in Japan, I am quite fluent in English thanks to my Irish father.
My goal as a language teacher is to help students to actually be able to use the language. Learning a language is not just about getting good marks in exams but also to be able to communicate with others, and to express yourself with your own words. Through fun activities and meaningful practices, I will help you to learn not only the language but also the culture and facts about my country!
