About Alexander
I am a trained musician from Syracuse University. I have been studying, performing, and practicing music for 15+ years and truly love what I do. It is through taking private lessons that I found my passion for music AND teaching. Currently, I am a 5th and 6th grade band director in a public school in upstate New York. I have been teaching for 3 years now and hold a B.M. (Bachelor of Music) in Music Education, as well as an M.S. (Master of Science) in Music Education. I am constantly keeping up with new and relative research in my field in order to maintain the best pedagogy.

My lessons are individually tailored to students' needs and interests while still focusing on technical development, musicianship, and growth. I have taught students privately ranging from 8 to 70 years old, and they all leave my studio having advanced as players. A typical lesson includes, but is not limited to, a warm-up, technique study, etude study, and a brief history and/or theory lesson mixed into the lesson.
