My approach as a tutor
Teaching methodology and techniques
My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and goal-oriented. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, pace, and learning style, because not every student learns the same way.
I focus on:
Building strong fundamentals first so advanced topics feel less overwhelming
Explaining concepts clearly and step-by-step in simple language
Active learning, where students solve problems and explain ideas back to me
Practice-based learning using examples, diagrams, and exam-style questions
Confidence-building, especially for students who feel anxious about science subjects
I also help students learn how to study effectively, not just what to memorize. This includes strategies for note-taking, revision, and test preparation.
A typical lesson plan
A typical lesson usually follows this structure:
Quick check-in (5 minutes)
What topic are we working on today?
What was difficult last time?
Any homework/test coming up?
Concept explanation (15–20 minutes)
I explain the topic in a clear and structured way
I use examples, visuals, and analogies to make it easier to understand
Guided practice (15–20 minutes)
We solve questions together
I help the student identify patterns and avoid common mistakes
Independent practice / application (10–15 minutes)
The student tries questions on their own while I guide when needed
Wrap-up and review (5 minutes)
Summary of key points
What to revise before the next session
Optional practice questions/homework support
I can also adjust lessons to focus on:
homework help
exam prep
assignment support
weekly review
long-term improvement in grades and study habits
What sets me apart as a tutor
What sets me apart is that I combine strong academic knowledge with a patient and encouraging teaching style.
I have a background in neuroscience and biology, so I understand science subjects deeply
I have experience explaining complex ideas in a way that feels manageable
I am approachable and supportive, especially with students who need extra confidence
I do not just give answers, I help students understand the reasoning behind them
I can support students in English, and I also speak Arabic and French, which can help multilingual learners feel more comfortable
I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that is how real learning happens.
Who the lessons are for
My lessons are for students who want support in science subjects, especially:
