About Aliza
I am at the University of California, Riverside perusing a double major or neuroscience and early childhood development. I have been highly successful in all math class and am currently taking the last calculus class of my college career.
I have worked with 100’sof students through peer tutoring at my high school along with running a mentoring program at my previous middle school.
Math is not difficult, it simply needs to be taught in an understandable way - something I am confident I can do.

Learning a concept and applying it right after is the only way to truly learn math.
To truly understand how to help students, I look at past tests and previous assignments to understand the weak points of a students knowledge and begin from there. Math builds on itself, you cannot learn a new concept if you don’t understand the basics.
Psychology backs learning through doing. After explaining a concept through analogies and diagrams and then running through a few problems together, I’ll ask the student to do a few problems by themself to ensure they fully understand the problem.
I love teaching elementary and middle school math along with high school algebra.
I have an IPad and am well-versed with Zoom which makes teaching virtually much easier.
