About Betsy
Teaching flute has been my passion for the past 5 years. I have had the privilege of teaching High School, College, and adult students, totalling around 150-200 learners. I believe learning music is not just about mastering notes but about self-expression, creativity, and building confidence.
A milestone I cherish was mentoring a shy student who had never performed before and guiding them to play beautifully in a recital. My teaching approach combines patience, structured practice, and creative exercises to make lessons interactive and enjoyable. I aim to help students grow technically, emotionally, and creatively, while fostering a lifelong love for the flute.

I follow a student-centred approach to teaching flute that combines practical skills, creativity, and understanding. I use real-life examples and case studies to make lessons relatable and easy to apply. I focus on motivation, inspiring students to stay curious, confident, and passionate about learning music.
Problem-solving is a key element of my methodology. I guide students through technical and musical challenges, helping them develop independence and skill. Integrity is central to my teaching, promoting discipline, honesty, and respect. My lessons are flexible, customised to each student’s abilities, pace, and goals.
In addition to flute, I teach related subjects like music theory and fundamentals to ensure students gain a complete understanding. This methodology ensures lessons are engaging, effective, and meaningful.
