About Rebecca
I have a PhD in Spanish and a BA in Italian. I have spent two decades teaching foreign language in the classroom and developing curricula for students, in addition to writing, editing and translating in three languages. My approach to teaching is both rigorous and fun, and my goal is for students to get as much out of their instruction time as they can so that they can go forth into the world (and their subject) with renewed enthusiasm and confidence.

My approach to language teaching varies a bit according to subject, but the constants are:
--a desire to know the student: what excites and drives them, and what they find challenging
-- a goal-oriented instruction plan: we assess what we want most to achieve and work towards that one step at a time
Foreign language Lesson plans include:
--entertaining stories and comprehension;
--dialogues and real conversation;
--music and news articles;
and in-depth grammar and composition review.
English literature and composition lesson plans include in-depth textual analysis, creative approaches to composition, and editing skills.
I have a broad background and can work across disciplines to provide materials for instruction. Lessons are customizable for students from ages 10 and up. In my years of teaching, I have instructed students from 3rd grade to college and can adjust accordingly.
