About Bihanka
Hello my name is Bihanka van der Nest. I currently reside in Gauteng, South Africa. Before finding passion in human interaction, I spent three years working for a safari lodge that catered mostly for international clients, it was there that I realized the importance of language and communication. To interact with different people and cultures there needs to be an understanding between the two parties to form a connection. This is where I decided to pursue my career in teaching English online.
I completed my 120 hr TEFL/TESOL certificate this year and before that I have about two years informal teaching experience, during this time I worked with various age groups and made many unforgettable connections. I believe that with patience and kindness people can excel at learning a foreign language as this is already a daunting task.

I use the PPP methodology when structuring my lesson plans. My teaching method is based on the multiple intelligence theory which states that people do not need to be smart in every single discipline to be considered intelligent on paper, but that people excel in various disciplines, making them exceptional. I approach each topic by using all of the different learning styles to accommodate each students needs.
