About Mariadaria
Hi there! I'm a British/Danish/Italian recent graduate (First Class in Natural Sciences from Cambridge), currently studying MSc Bioinformatics in Denmark. I'm looking to tutor science, maths or Italian (I am a native speaker) to GCSE and A level. I have experience teaching all of these subjects.
My own A Level grades were Biology (A*, highest scorer in college), Chemistry (A*, highest scorer in college), Maths (A*, >95% in every module) and Further Maths (A*, over 90% in every module). In my GCSEs, I achieved an A* in 13 subjects including Advanced Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Italian, Ancient Greek and Art, in which I scored full marks.
I know what it takes, practically, to achieve high grades at GCSE and A level- I went through it myself and achieved the highest scores in my year group of >300 in Biology and Chemistry at Peter Symonds, and over 90% in all my Maths and Further Maths A level modules. We can focus on particular areas of the syllabus, or explore further content: it all depends on the interests and needs of the student. I am also happy to teach that all-important exam technique needed to hit high grades. I really hope to transmit my passion for science to my students (just ask me about dinosaurs if you need proof!).
My own research interests revolve around old dead things, currently ancient humans (feel free to ask about this!). On the side, I run my own portraiture business and love to run long distance and cook! I can promise to smile almost constantly, and to always be encouraging and work hard to help tutees achieve their goals- whether that means passing or aiming for full marks in the exam.
