I am Dr Siyanda Mthembu, a Chemistry Lecturer with a passion for teaching, learning, and helping students achieve their academic goals.

I hold a PhD in Chemistry. My academic and teaching experience includes undergraduate and postgraduate Chemistry, with particular expertise in Organic Chemistry. As both an educator and a researcher, I bring a strong scientific foundation and a practical, problem-solving approach to every lesson.

My approach to teaching is built on understanding, patience, and individual growth. I know that Chemistry can sometimes seem complicated, especially when students encounter unfamiliar concepts, chemical equations, calculations, or reaction mechanisms. My goal is to make these topics easier to understand by breaking them down into manageable steps, explaining the reasoning behind each concept, and connecting theory to practical applications.

My Approach to Private Chemistry Tutoring

I am an Organic Chemistry Lecturer holding a PhD in Chemistry. I am experienced teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. I am passionate about helping learners develop a deeper understanding of Chemistry, improve their academic performance, and build confidence in their abilities.

My teaching methodology

My tutoring approach is student-centred, interactive, and tailored to each student's individual learning needs. I believe that Chemistry becomes much easier when students understand the fundamental principles behind concepts rather than simply memorising definitions, equations, and reaction mechanisms. What makes me unique as a tutor is the combination of my advanced academic qualifications, university-level teaching experience, and research background in Organic Chemistry.
