About Anora
I am a recent graduate of English Language & Literature from the University of Oxford, where I was awarded first-class honours for my degree. I have been a professional tutor since February of 2017, and since then, have tutored 3 IB diploma Literature students. All of my students scored at least one grade higher than their initial prediction, with no grade less than a level 5. I am also the recipient of a number of academic prizes at university, and at school, ranked second in my year for a score of 44 in the IB diploma.

I provide English tutoring primarily to GCSE, A Level and IB students, but am flexible about working with a range of age groups. As a tutor, I try to be as helpful and constructive as possible, so most of my lessons are structured around working through activities, commentaries or essay plans together. I generally start my lessons by going through the feedback on some written homework, and then provide my students with a few activities to work through before we tackle practice exam questions. I see my role as being to provide guidance, not the answers, so I like to build my students' confidence by asking questions that will lead them in the right direction. I also prepare resources (lists of key terms or sample essay structures, for example) that I know will be beneficial to the individual student. I then set a homework task that I think will consolidate the day's lesson.
