About Jesse
I've been tutoring a variety of students for around 4 years, including teaching second language English to adults, primary and 11+ literacy, GCSE literature and language tutoring, and A Level English. I've worked with students with wildly differing needs, including learning disabilities, retakes, students looking to push their A to an A*, etc.

I prefer to cater my teaching to the student, using their interests to tailor lessons to their ability and goals (such as GCSE level, using passages from books they like or about TV like they like). For younger children, I make lessons fun so they retain more information, and for higher level English I will go over school work, essays, and set texts. If something isn't working for the student, we'll change that element and approach the topic from a different angle, as I don't believe in forcing students through ineffective "traditional" learning if it isn't working.
