About Yves-Patrick
I am an undergraduate, reading for History at the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Education. I provide online tutorials - in my own and related fields - to individuals or groups, and in-person excursions to museums and exhibitions. I am of particular use to those wishing to engage with the following areas:

An intellectual curiosity; a keen sense of wit; a command of language; and an ability to empathise with people from across the world with quiet confidence - this is the stuff of success. Success that is achieved through extensive reading, discussion, honest debate and - if at all possible - through travel. It is not, in my considered view, achieved by the nervous memorisation of masses of information to be regurgitated on exam day -and forgotten the next.
When a student engages in the organic form of learning over the synthetic, everything else follows - grades can feel earned, and the resulting confidence can breed years of success. I tutor with this school-of-thought in mind, using the subject matter at hand to inform tutorials that provide for specific, in-depth discussion, debate, and exercise. However my priority will always be to improve the student's general understanding and tact in a given subject area, rather than teach for an exam.
