About Evelyn
Hi, I'm Evelyn, a senior at Palo Alto High School who loves helping younger students learn and grow. I've been tutoring and mentoring kids since 9th grade, including helping children with their homework at a local shelter, where I often work through math problems with them step by step. I've also played violin for over 10 years, served as first violin section leader in my school orchestras, and teach violin to my younger siblings. Through all of this, I've learned how to explain things clearly, stay patient, and adjust to each student's needs. I'm responsible, reliable, and genuinely excited to help your child succeed!

My lessons are for elementary and middle school students who want to build strong math skills and feel more confident in class. I start by finding out where each student is and what they find confusing, then explain concepts step by step using simple examples and real life problems. A typical lesson starts with a quick review, moves into a new concept with guided practice, and ends with a few problems the student solves on their own. I'm patient, encouraging, and happy to help with homework, test prep, or getting ahead. As a high school student myself, I remember what it's like to struggle with a topic, so I make math feel less stressful and more fun!
