About Penny
I am an experienced teacher who loves music and imparting and inspiring the same in my students of all ages and levels. I have a degree in music and piano performance diplomas in both AMEB and The Yamaha Music Foundation.
My experience ranges from over 15years group teaching with Yamaha Music Schools, training new teachers, 25+ years private tuition, primary and high school classroom music.
I love many styles of music and cater for individual tastes and goals. Proven results in exams over many years.

My teaching methodology is based on the foundations of inspiring a love for music, developing the will to learn and expressing creativity freely.
I teach the fundamentals of music through pieces that my students enjoy. My approach is age-appropriate - for young students who aren't ready to read, using more listening and copying, for older students, reading music is important as well as understanding chords, improvisation/arranging and composing.
I encourage a desire in students to express their music to the best of their ability, notice details, have fun and to be proud of their achievements.
