About Dylan
I am a passionate flute tutor who loves helping students grow both creatively and technically. My teaching combines mentorship, critical thinking, accountability, and creative exploration. I focus on developing tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while encouraging expressive playing. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training for well-rounded musicianship. Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and musical storytelling. I help students set goals, stay disciplined, and track their progress consistently. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for learning and improvement. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and personal interests. I act as a mentor, offering guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback.
Lessons balance technical skill-building with creative exercises to keep students engaged. I emphasise reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking in all sessions. My goal is to build confidence, independence, and a love for music in every student. I also teach related subjects such as theory, rhythm, and performance preparation. I create a positive and motivating environment where students feel encouraged. My ultimate aim is to help students become expressive, confident, and lifelong musicians.

My flute teaching method focuses on creativity, critical thinking, and accountability. I believe every student has the potential to grow into a confident and expressive musician. Each lesson encourages exploration, reflection, and self-expression. I act as a mentor who supports students while challenging them to reach their goals. Accountability ensures consistent practice and measurable progress. Lessons include tone, rhythm, phrasing, and breath control exercises. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to build complete musicianship. Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, small compositions, and musical storytelling. I encourage students to analyse their playing and learn from mistakes.
My teaching is flexible to suit each student’s pace, level, and interests. I create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated. I emphasise curiosity, reflection, and problem-solving in every lesson. I also teach related subjects like theory, performance, and musical interpretation. My goal is to help students develop skill, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
