About Alex

Hi, I’m Alex. I graduated with a degree in Maths from the University of East Anglia in 2015 and ever since then I’ve been tutoring Maths, both privately and in schools. I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students, from key stage 3 to A-level, for the past 10 years. Many of those students have had a variety of learning difficulties, such as ADHD or autism. I am experienced with every exam board for GCSE and A-level.

About the lesson

My approach is always centred around the student, focusing on identifying their individual needs and tailoring my lessons to suit how they learn. My favourite part about tutoring is that every single student I teach is unique and I am constantly challenged to provide exciting and engaging lessons to facilitate their learning. A typical lesson for me would involve going over any topics that the student is currently struggling with in school, to allow them to stay up to date with their class work and not fall behind their peers. If they aren’t struggling with anything in particular, I focus heavily on exam practice as, from my experience, most students who underperform in exams don’t necessarily struggle with maths, but they struggle with how to approach each question in an exam setting.
