About Michaela
I am currently a Pharmacology student at the University of Manchester in my 4th year of my MSci degree. With an achieved A* in biology A level, 9 in GCSE and a 2:1 in BSc Pharmacology, I have gained expertise in my subject. I have tutored many students, both A level and GCSE, for 2 years and wish to continue to do so as I find teaching students enjoyable and rewarding. I aim to spread knowledge to aid the progression of science and medicine as this is crucially important for society. I'm also extremely passionate about my subject.
I am familiar with GCSE Edexcel, AQA and OCR exam boards, as well as A level AQA and Edexcel A. If your exam board isn't listed here, do not worry as I am open to researching your course to the best of my ability so I can help you!

Focusing on A level and GCSE biology, my lessons include active recall of information and quizzes, typically delivered through online whiteboards for interactivity. I will also focus on essay tips, key terms for specific exam questions and practice of maths in biology. I will provide deep explanations of topics in a way that is easy to understand. Depending on the student's level, I include fun activities such as comics, posters and mindmaps to help learning for those who need to reconsolidate knowledge. This method is also effective in building student-tutor relationships and I believe that by creating lessons students will look forward to, learning becomes easier and more natural to the student.

Perfect! Michaela is helping GCSE Biology for my daughter who is now in Year 10. My daughter actually hates Biology so much as she doesn't want to memorize vocabularies and concepts; however, Michaela is calm and patient and explains the materials clearly and helps my daughter on areas she is stuck on. My daughter is enjoying her lessons with Michaela who is professional, friendly and easy to talk to. She is enthusiastic about her lessons too. Michaela has been my close friend ever since high school. Back then, I always struggled with science, but she would spend her lunches and breaks helping me study. I went from struggling to pass biology to achieving a 7, far past my expectations, thanks to Michaela’s help. I definitely recommend her as a tutor.
