About Tomas
I’ve been passionate about music since childhood. I trained in classical piano through my teens, completing the highest level of certification in the UK, and studied jazz theory from age 8—an experience that shaped my intuitive grasp of harmony and improvisation. Later, I taught myself guitar, which gave me a fresh, practical perspective on theory. In high school, I ran my house’s music program and sang with our competition-winning glee team. Beyond formal training, I explore every style I can—jazz, rock, classical, pop, and more—developing the ability to analyze and explain music across genres.

Your goals will define our classes. If you're interested in learning why your favorite songs work so well, we'll listen to them and analyze their chord changes, rhythmic patterns, etc. to find out what makes them groove.
If you're interested in writing songs of your own, we'll discuss cadences, melodies, bass lines, and the circle of fifths.
If you're looking to study for some advanced tests like AP music theory, we'll look at syllabus sections that might be challenging you.
If you're just looking to better your understanding of the wonderful subject of music theory, we'll mix and match all of the above! And of course, all the above topics can be switched around according to your needs.
