About Shamim

I am an Astrophysicist, in love with maths, physics, chemistry, natural sciences, and of course stars! I love teaching and I believe the best way to use your knowledge is to transfer it to the next generation. I have proudly done so in the last 10+ years. I believe the world needs more scientists thus I try my best to encourage everyone to join this beautiful field.

About the lesson

Having over 10 years of experience in tutoring Maths, Physics, and Chemistry; for GCSE, A-level, and university, has helped me to find the best methods to teach. I have been proudly honoured to be able to help a significant number of students to join the STEM field. Teaching science has always been a joyful experience for me. I try my best to teach my students to think like a scientist, ask critically and curiously, and explore the universe in scientific ways. Organising a warm and friendly environment for the student to disentangle their mind and let their thoughts and questions flow gradually. I am open to scientific questions, different methods, and opinions, and I try to look at the subject from different frames of reference. I listen carefully and I try to answer every question precisely. I have arranged lesson plans, settled goals, and prioritised tasks, and I try to stick with the plan throughout my lessons. My teaching methods and speed is adjusted according to the student's ability. Mentored to encourage students to strive to be the best they can as well as enjoy learning. I have tried my best to support my students, help them build their confidence, and make them want to succeed. I, myself try to learn, research, and be scholars throughout my lessons to make sure both the student as well as the teacher (myself) be working hard together to achieve our goal.

Perfect! Great Python tutor
I had a lesson with Shamim on the topic of Python before the Christmas break at the time where no tutors were available to help me out.

She took her time to teach me and she broke the topics down for me, step by step. She was absolutely professional, extremely thorough with her teaching and with an astounding knowledge of the topic.

She was very helpful and patient and gave me time to understand each topic before moving on to the next..
I highly recommend her as she is dedicated. She will teach you in a comprehensible way. I look forward to working with her soon.

Thank you Shamim,

Az

Perfect! Very helpful
Shamim was asked at the last minute to spend two weeks doing intensive chemistry for my daughter Sophie who was struggling in her second year of GCSEs. She was very accommodating and really flexible, helping her cover a wide range of topics in a very short space of time.

Shamim has helped many of our students with Physics, for both A-Levels and degree level. They have been extremely happy with the results, and we can clearly see they are improving their grades. She is excellent at teaching complicated topics in an easy-to-understand way. She also helped one of our students prepare for Imperial College interview, and he managed to secure an offer from Imperial. All-in-all , she is our go-to physics tutor, and the best we've ever worked with.
