About Celia
I am a piano tutor with 9 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Collaborative Piano. My teaching approach emphasizes critical thinking, musicality, and individualized learning tailored to each student’s goals. I believe that true musical growth comes from a holistic approach, combining technique, music theory, ear training, and music history. I have guided students from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, as well as those pursuing Professional and Expert skills. Each lesson is designed to build confidence, technical ability, and artistic expression. I encourage students to explore different styles and develop their own musical voice. Through structured practice and creative exercises, I help learners understand not just how to play, but why music works the way it does. I focus on fostering curiosity and a deep appreciation for the piano. Lessons are engaging, thoughtful, and tailored to suit individual learning styles. My goal is to inspire students to grow both technically and creatively, while enjoying every step of their musical journey. My piano lessons are designed to help students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players, grow their skills and confidence. I focus on building a strong foundation in technique, sight-reading, and finger strength. Lessons are personalized to match each student’s goals and learning pace.
I integrate music theory into every lesson, making it easy to understand scales, chords, harmony, and rhythm. Students also explore music history to appreciate the context behind the pieces they play. For exam preparation, I guide learners through ABRSM, Rockschool, and A-Level syllabi, ensuring they are fully confident for practical and theory exams.
I encourage creativity through composition and improvisation, helping students develop their own musical voice. We cover classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary styles, making learning versatile and engaging. Students learn to express emotion and tell stories through music.
I provide practical tips and techniques to excel in performance and recordings. My approach combines structured practice with fun exercises to maintain motivation. I support each student to reach their full potential while enjoying the journey.
