About Libby
With past experience in GCSE mathematics tutoring, I have raised student's grades by improving their skill level and confidence in the capability I know they have. I use my own experience to understand what can be found difficult within each topic followed by a teaching style that involves revisiting topics at increasing intervals to refresh and improve memory. I am always willing to go back to basics when a student is having particular difficulties in order to build on skills that are already there to master new topics with increasing independence as questions progress. I know many people struggle with maths but this is often due to dull and generalised teaching methods necessary for large classes. I believe that every student has the capability for the subject and will work with them to discover what teaching methods work best for each individual. Despite specialising in mathematics due to my passion for the subject, I am proficient in all core subjects up to a GCSE level and would happily take on any of the sciences at this level or any subjects including english if needed for SATs or the 11 plus exams.
