About Louise
I have a degree in music performance, specialising in classical clarinet and saxophone. I also play to a very high standard in flute, and can help with reading/theoretical skills too. I am a freelance performer, and have 8 years of professional teaching experience. I can tailor lessons to your needs. Alongside lessons, I offer students message support for advice and tips. As a teacher, I believe that music making should be enjoyable and that is always at the forefront of my lessons. I completely understand that playing in front of a tutor can be nerve-wracking. I am here to help with your instrumental and performance skills and as a teacher, I always put a strong focus on positive mindset.

I am a firm believer in making music enjoyable. Mistakes are an essential part of the learning process and are always approached positively. I cater specifically to each student, so every lesson is varied. Essential skills such as scalework, sight-reading, rhythm work (and much more!) are incorporated throughout. Perfect! Great ... exactly what is needed in a lesson. Will definitely be continuing.
Perfect! I always come away from lessons with Louise feeling positive and motivated. I have taken up the clarinet in retirement and am a relative beginnner having been trying to teach myself. I thought I would find lessons pressured but Louise is very patient and gives you her full atttention with the emphasis on enjoyment. I really wish I had taken the plunge years ago and would recommend Louise as teacher to anyone.

Louise is a great tutor with infinite patience. As an adult learner I have enjoyed the lessons as whilst not looking to follow formal grades the theory behind music has been fascinating. Louise has made learning a fun experience
Lou has been absolutely fantastic in helping me learn the saxophone. Her lessons are really well structured and made me feel like I was improving every time I had a lesson. She is very friendly and will always have a laugh with you! She is also very knowledgable and never left a question unanswered. More importantly though her lessons are fun and you will always leave with a smile on your face! Will always recommend! Thank you Lou!

My main instrument is Clarinet but an impulse buy of a Saxophone has been embraced and Louise has offered to incorporate that into my weekly lesson with ease
I can definitely recommend Louise if you want to learn, from beginners, those restarting or those who want to improve look no further than LouiseI know Louise from our university orchestras where she took me under her wing as she was a much more experienced musician. She is extremely hardworking and very approachable and ready to help in any way she can. She is also very patient and after graduating from the University of Leeds this year I know she has all the skills to be a great tutor!
