About Maddy
Hi, I’m Maddy!
I have a 1st-class English degree from the University of Nottingham (BA Hons) and received the grades A*A*A in my A-Levels (English, History and Philosophy of Religion).
I am conscientious, personable and driven to ensure that all my tutees live up to their full potential. As someone who loves words and books, I hope that you will find our lessons as enjoyable as they are rewarding!
Tutoring Experience
I have several years’ experience in helping to refine students’ CVs , job-applications and cover-letters. As someone who also works in Marketing and Events, I have honed my proof-reading and copywriting abilities, and have used these skills to help students give the best possible impression of themselves when applying for their dream job.
I have also provided assistance in editing and proof-reading dissertations for university undergraduates, and will be of great assistance to anyone currently studying English at school or university level.

As a part-time tutor, I am very keen to help anyone studying English from GSCE up to degree level, in topics spanning literary analysis, discourse, grammar and creative writing. That is far from an exhaustive list however, and I am very happy to discuss any additional topics you may want to cover.
Tutorials are structured depending on each student’s need. Every student has their own way of studying, and I adapt my teaching style accordingly: there is no rote learning here!
My working hours are flexible: I can offer online lessons any day of the week. So, whether you want to cover an entire syllabus, or just discuss a single book, I am sure that we can work out a convenient schedule.
As mentioned above, I am also very happy to put my professional skills to good use and proofread any essays, coursework or job applications you may be struggling with.
