About Livi
My name is Livi. I completed the IB in 2021, and I am currently in my 4th year of studying medicine at the University of Nottingham. I want to teach because I always found the conventional way of learning difficult, and I don't want others to be limited in what they learn because of a lack of effort put into them as individuals. I got 44 at IB, with Biology (6), Chemistry (7) and maths (7) as my higher level subjects.

My sessions are structured, calm, and completely tailored to the individual student. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than memorising methods, so students develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently. Each lesson is carefully planned around the student’s current level, strengths, and areas for improvement. We begin by identifying gaps in understanding, then work through concepts step-by-step with clear explanations and guided practice. I break complex topics down into manageable parts, ensuring nothing feels overwhelming. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions — no pressure, no judgement. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, and I actively encourage students to explain their thinking so I can strengthen their reasoning skills. For exam-year students, I incorporate exam technique throughout our sessions. This includes: Understanding mark schemes Learning how to structure full-mark answers Managing time effectively Recognising common question patterns My aim is not just to improve grades, but to help students become confident, independent learners who approach maths with clarity rather than anxiety.

Livi taught my daughter for her GCSE maths exams, and really helped her through the topics she didn’t understand. Livi had lots of patience, and the lessons were all taught based on my daughter as an individual, and what she wanted to focus on. They were fun lessons and Livi would prepare each time a series of questions or helpful videos. Would definiteky reuse and recommend!!
