About Calvin
I’m Cal — a mechanical engineer and MBA with a passion for helping students build confidence in math. Over the last several years, I’ve worked as an engineer and product manager, using algebra, geometry, and data analysis in real-world applications every day. Now, I bring that experience into my tutoring to show students that math isn’t just about passing a test — it’s a skill that opens doors. I’ve tutored students in Algebra and Pre-Algebra, and I scored a perfect 36 on the ACT Math, so I understand both the academic side and the test-taking strategy. Whether a student is struggling with classwork, preparing for the SAT/ACT, or looking to sharpen their skills, my approach is always the same: clear instruction, steady encouragement, and results-driven practice. I know how overwhelming math can feel — and I also know how great it feels when it finally clicks. That’s what I aim to create in every session.
