About Milene
Hello!
I have a degree in Fine Arts and Multimedia (IPBeja) with a postgraduate degree in Illustration and Animation (IPCA in Barcelos), I have 7 years of freelance experience offering private commissions for several clients.
I am mostly self-taught and since I was young I have been looking for education focused on the areas that I offer on this page; Being native to the interior area of Portugal, unfortunately at the time I could not find the education I wanted in the country in a geographically and financially accessible way.
Bearing this in mind, together with the growth of the video games area in Portugal and the evolution of technology, I want to try to share knowledge with others who are also interested in Character Design.

Graduated in Illustration and Animation, with 7 years of freelance experience offering private art commissions with a focus on character art and design. Regarding my teaching experience, I have taught in the areas of Scientific Illustration and Motion Graphics (although short in duration and done as volunteer work);
My personal work is closer to semi-realism and fantasy, however that doesn't mean I can't help others with more stylized forms of expression.

✦ OBJECTIVES:
- Adapting taught content to match the needs and pace of each student (topics you feel more difficulty in, topics you want to focus on, etc.);
- Supporting, offering criticism and direction, of a constructive nature, seeking to build onto the student's present abilities and ideas, rather than "taking down";
- Helping and training the student to feel more confident not only in their work, but also to be able to identify and know how to solve any "flaws" in their work;

✦ FOR WHOM:
This is intended for people of any age over 10 years old as long as they are interested. Overall, I think it's more suitable for beginners and intermediate levels, but if you're interested in any of the topics presented here, you can ask about it and/or try it out!
These classes may be for you if you:
- Do not have any experience in drawing, but are interested in learning how to do so, especially the human figure and animals;
- Have some experience, but have difficulty creating unique or interesting characters;
- Are interested in Concept Art, Character Art, and/or Character Design, wanting to get into the video game area, and want direction and a second opinions on your work and portfolio;
- You have knowledge of traditional drawing but want to enter the area of Digital Arts;

✦ EQUIPMENT AND NECESSARY MATERIALS
For these classes you need a drawing tablet (any brand as long as it works, with or without a screen) OR a "mobile" tablet that has a pencil (such as an iPad, or Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and other more recent models);
It is necessary that you have installed a program in which you can draw, in this case if you are on a computer, Photoshop (or Clip Studio Paint);
If you're on a tablet, it's okay to use Procreate or Clip Studio Paint. (Note however that I don't use Procreate)
If you're just interested in drawing bases and don't have a drawing tablet or "mobile" tablet, we only need a pencil and paper :)
It is not necessary to use a Webcam, as most classes will be by voice and screen sharing through Discord / Google Meets.

Details
The minimum lesson time is 1 hour, with the maximum being 4 hours. It is important to note these lessons will be more fruitful the longer they are, being that the lessons are structured as 70% hands-on and 30% theory the student will need time to complete any exercises.
With an 1 hour lesson, the most likely to happen is for the theory to be taught, the student begins an exercise, but then takes "homework" to finish by themselves;
The opposite happens with a larger lesson in which the student is able to get teacher support throughout the entire process of the exercise.
