About Margarida
I am a 33-year-old lecturer at a university in Lisbon. I currently teach economics, but I previously taught quantitative methods for both undergrad and postgrad students. In addition to my experiences in academia, I have also worked extensively in public policy, writing advice for policy-makers based on rigorous evidence reviews.

I am an experienced lecturer and teaching assistant, having taught quantitative methods at the LSE and other top universities in Portugal. My approach is to start very easy, and - as the frog that finds himself boiling - progressively get to the hard stuff. I am also an experienced researcher and have successfully completed several projects. Furthermore, I helped guide LSE students in the quantitative projects, as well as marked them.
I can help with the following topics:
- Principles of econometrics/OLS
- Quasi-experimental methods (e.g. regression discontinuity design)
- GIS in QGis or R
- Coming up with research questions
- Writing a research paper
I have written papers using differences-in-differences, regression discontinuity design, fixed effects, and instrumental variables:
