About Shalini
Hello everyone! I graduated with a PhD from the University of Otago. Currently, I’m taking a break from work and in the meantime, I’m looking to offer mathematics tutoring. I believe many students find the subject intimidating due to a lack of understanding, and I would love to help change that. I’m more than willing to explain concepts multiple times until they resonate with my students—that’s what teaching is all about! I have taught mathematics NZ curriculum part-time for the past four years, and I’m eager to continue supporting students in their learning journey. I can currently provide online lessons only.
I usually like to teach for 2-3 hours per week, but that can change depending on the student. My first session will be free, in order to give students an idea of my teaching and understand their requirements. Once they agree to go ahead, it’d be $25/hr. For year 10 and above, it’s $30/hr. I prefer to give one on one lessons to students as it helps me focus better on their learning.
