About Van
Derivations and formulas form the bedrock of my physics instruction, alongside thermodynamics, mechanics, and conceptual learning. Honestly, I often find modern physics and numerical problem solving more intuitive than everyday arithmetic. My background includes 13 years of teaching recitations at an R1 university while earning my PhD in quantum information.
Optics and competition prep for Olympiad exams represent my core focus areas. Helping students understand and apply complex physical laws is incredibly rewarding.
