About Caitlin
I am a PhD-qualified English Language and Literature specialist with over a decade of academic and educational experience.
Alongside working as a full-time tutor, I also work as a GCSE and A Level examiner, team leader, and moderator for major exam boards.
I provide tailored, SEN-friendly lessons designed to build confidence as well as grades.
My background includes doctoral research in postcolonial literature, an MA in Translation Studies, and extensive experience supporting students from secondary level through to postgraduate study.
I combine examiner insight with a supportive teaching style to help every learner succeed.

My lessons are carefully structured around each student’s individual needs and goals. I I always have high expectations of my students and shape my lessons to ensure they are comfortable with their progression.
I encourage students in independent research and study and assess their work in lesson, demonstrating ways to improve upon what they have already achieved.
Sessions are well organised and purposeful, but I remain patient and flexible. If students arrive at lessons with a specific goal in mind, I am always happy to adapt to their needs in the moment. I will not push a student onto something new until I am certain they full comprehend the content of the previous task.
I always offer a free 30 minute meeting to discuss future lessons, but study will not normally be conducted within this session.

She tutored my daughter which resulted in my daughter having the highest mark in her class for English. I am so grateful for Caitlin and her expertise.
Caitlin provided tuition to my 3 sons in English Literature and History over KS2 and KS3 levels. They greatly enjoyed their lessons and went from avoiding books to wanting to read, it was amazing the enthusiasm she inspired in them.
