About Winnie
I’m a Cambridge PhD student and university lecturer who enjoys helping students feel less stressed and more confident about learning. I wasn’t good at school myself at all, until I had my eureka in university - so I understand how confusing and overwhelming it can feel — especially when things are explained in a way that just doesn’t click. My lessons are calm, structured, and supportive. I break topics down into clear steps, explain the why as well as the what, and help you build real understanding rather than memorising and panicking later. I want learning to feel logical, manageable, and even interesting — not scary. I teach students from primary level up to A-level (including international students), and I’m here to help you feel steady, capable, and more confident in yourself — not just for exams, but beyond them too.

My tutoring style is calm, structured, and confidence-building. I focus on helping students genuinely understand their subjects rather than memorising facts, breaking complex ideas into clear, manageable steps so learning feels logical and achievable rather than intimidating. Having struggled myself as a student, I’m particularly attentive to anxiety, confidence, and pacing. - Lessons are typically 60 minutes (longer or shorter sessions available by request). - I am a PhD researcher at the University of Cambridge, a Visiting Lecturer (previously full-time), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and a qualified radiographer, with additional qualifications including an MClinRes, MSc, PgCert, and BSc (Hons). - I teach students from Key Stage 1 to A-Level, including international students and non-native English speakers.
