About Grace
Hi! I'm 25 and am based in Ravenswood. I'm philosophy student (nearly completed with my BA, applying for graduate schools). I have spent years working with complex ideas and turning them into something clear and understandable. I’ve always had a thing for reading, writing, and especially helping people make sense of difficult material. I’m patient, and genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence in their skills. I bring a calm and supportive energy to my lessons. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and useful. I want my students to be able to work through complex ideas and assignments with confidence!

My tutoring approach is centered on clarity and real understanding. I break complex ideas into simple, manageable ones with patience. I adjust according to each students learning style. Encouraging my student to feel confident and supported is important to me!
My lesson plans typically start with a check-in on current assignments or any challenges. From there, we review the material together and identify if there's any confusion and work through it if so. I find active learning important, so asking questions and exploring ideas so the student can learn to think critically and independently.
What steps me apart as a tutor is my background in philosophy and research, which allows me to explain reading and writing skills in a clear way. I help students learn how to analyze texts, form strong arguments, and express themselves confidently. I'm patient, detail-orientated, and love encouraging critical thinking skills.
My lessons are ideally for high school or college students who want support in writing, reading, humanities research, class discussions, or just fundamental understanding of topics and texts.
