About Anna
I have been teaching piano for more than 25 years. I am specialised in preparing school age students and adults for all levels of ABRSM exams. More than 80% of my students achieved either Merit or Distinction in the last ten years, with a 100% pass rate. Nevertheless I am of course more than happy to help students of any age and level to enjoy playing just for fun! I have discovered the love for music at the age of seven when I started taking private piano lessons in Italy. My early years of musical education with passionate and caring teachers helped me to develop the joy of learning and encourage me to continue my musical studies at the Conservatoire of Music in Italy (ten years course). I graduated in Piano Performance in 1997 and started teaching as a visiting music teacher and private piano teacher in Italy. In addition to my professional experience as piano teacher, I hold a Diploma of Specialisation in teaching Pupils with Special needs obtained at the University of Bari- Italy. This, with my long experience as primary school teacher of pupils with special needs, enables me to better understand and relate to students from different cultures, backgrounds and skills. I find teaching stimulating and I strongly believe that music positively encourages self-esteem, communication skills and creativity for the entire life. I like to encourage pupils to express themselves through their musicality, and I understand that students learn at their own pace and have different ways and strategies for learning. I am passionate and always enthusiastic about helping students to achieve their full musical potential. I offer 30mins, 45mins and 1h long lesson, online or in person to best suit students' needs.

I know Anna for almost eight years when our then five year old daughter started her piano lessons. Anna is a brilliant piano teacher, effective with children, thorough, patient, and focused. She has gently guided our daughter through the ABRSM exams from the very start to grade 6 this year, without the process ever becoming stressful or boring. Anna is also flexible and supported our daughter at various times in her other music endeavors like music scholarship exams, and school concerts.
