I went to school at the largest music school in England, where each of us was trained as musicians up to a professional level alongside our A-level subjects. Several times a year we had public concerts, competitions, collaborations with professionals, recordings and travel, which gave us extremely musical, intellectual and educational support.
I spent my first year of university in Vancouver under the close supervision of internationally renowned pianists, composers, conductors, and music researchers. Since then, I have also worked as a teacher in other subject areas, which has greatly enriched my breadth of methods and teaching style.
I am an extremely open, positive, and communicative person who enjoys explaining content, problem solutions, concepts, and techniques as vividly and individually understandable as possible. But I also relate everything directly to practice. Above all, I care about the enthusiasm and associated progress of my students, and I am happy to be able to adapt my lessons to your individual strengths and interests.

I focus on a combination of understanding/hearing development and physical technique, which I consider to be the 2 most important skill areas for a pianist. Music exists on the level of sound, and only through internal improvements in hearing and visualization can one understand it better, internalize it, express it emotionally, and even create it (improvisation, composition). However, on the piano, it is also essential that the hands always are ready to realize everything you have in your head and in your ears :)

Although lessons always take place one-on-one, in the future I would also like to offer interested students opportunities to network with each other and learn from each other. This could, for example, take the form of a social gathering or joint group exercises and performances in a relaxed atmosphere.
But it never becomes compulsory, so don't worry for those who are more timid!
