About Nova
I pursued a B.Mus in Piano Performance and an M.Mus in Piano Pedagogy due to a lifelong passion for piano and music education. Over 8 years, I have taught students across all skill levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced learners refining expressive interpretation and performance skills. My teaching philosophy emphasizes individualized instruction, patience, creativity, and structured guidance, ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
Lessons integrate technical exercises, repertoire, improvisation, performance preparation, and ensemble work. I encourage students to explore tone, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation while cultivating confidence, musical independence, and artistic growth. My approach balances skill development with creativity to nurture well-rounded musicianship.
Outside teaching, I perform regularly, study a wide range of repertoire, and participate in workshops to continually enhance my expertise. Incorporating these experiences into lessons enriches students’ understanding and inspires creative exploration. Witnessing learners grow from hesitant beginners to confident, expressive pianists is deeply rewarding. My mission is to cultivate technically proficient, expressive, and confident pianists who embrace music as a lifelong journey of creativity and joy.

Lessons combine structured drills, repertoire practice, improvisation, and creative exploration, providing a supportive space where students can experiment, learn from mistakes, and develop their own musical voice.
Beginners focus on hand positioning, fundamental scales, simple pieces, sight-reading basics, and coordination exercises to establish a solid foundation. Intermediate learners refine finger independence, tone control, dynamics, expressive phrasing, and stylistic interpretation of classical and contemporary repertoire. Advanced students work on performance preparation, advanced techniques, improvisation, nuanced interpretation, and expressive phrasing. Each lesson integrates personalized feedback, reflective exercises, and creative challenges to ensure consistent progress and comprehensive understanding.
Piano study also enhances cognitive skills, emotional intelligence, discipline, and artistic confidence. Students gain the ability to perform with poise, interpret complex musical ideas, and communicate emotions through music. Many explore ensemble participation, composition, or improvisation, building both technical skill and artistic versatility. My aim is to cultivate students who achieve mastery, expressive freedom, and confidence while developing a lifelong passion for piano and music.
