About Lacey
As a guitar tutor with Master's degrees in Music, my mission is to inspire students to reach their full potential both technically and creatively. I begin by teaching core techniques such as posture, finger placement, chord transitions, rhythm, strumming, and tone control, gradually introducing improvisation, composition, and expressive phrasing. Music theory is integrated naturally, linking concepts to real songs and exercises that are enjoyable and meaningful. Each lesson is customised to the student’s pace, goals, and style, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment. I emphasise not only technical skill but also artistic expression and performance confidence. Ear training, sight-reading, and improvisation are included to cultivate well-rounded musicianship.
I encourage exploration across genres, from classical and jazz to rock, blues, and pop, broadening students’ musical horizons. My teaching combines structured guidance with creativity and freedom, ensuring lessons are both productive and inspiring. I provide detailed feedback, practice strategies, and mentorship to help students overcome challenges. Milestones are celebrated to maintain motivation and confidence. I focus on helping learners develop a personal musical voice and the ability to communicate through their instrument. Over time, students grow into confident, expressive, and versatile musicians. My lessons emphasise patience, perseverance, and a lifelong love for music. Teaching guitar is more than instruction—it is a journey of discovery, creativity, and growth. Every session is an opportunity to inspire passion, confidence, and artistry.

Music is more than notes; it’s a form of expression that connects emotion with sound. My guitar lessons are designed to help you experience that connection while developing your skills. Holding both Master's degrees in Music, I bring an academic yet artistic approach to teaching. We begin with technique, hand control, and rhythm, then move towards understanding musical phrasing and storytelling through your instrument. Each session is interactive, blending practice routines with creative play. I encourage students to explore various genres—from blues and rock to classical and acoustic fingerstyle. You’ll also learn music theory in context, understanding how harmony shapes your favourite songs. I include ear training and improvisation exercises to develop your musical instincts.
My feedback-based teaching ensures steady, visible progress. I help students gain performance confidence and musical interpretation skills. Lessons are crafted to be fun, goal-oriented, and rewarding. By the end, you’ll be able to express yourself freely through your guitar.
