About Carlos
Hello, my name is Carlos.
I am a guitar player of over 15 years with a love of many genres.
I want to know your favorite guitar player and show you the techniques and concepts they use to furhter develop your ability.
For our lessons, i will curate excercises to your genre prefrences to keep you engaged and show you example and applications for any music theory topic.
As a film composer I have a great insight when it comes to music and how to express it. When writing music, the depth of which i have applied musical concepts gives a detailed understanding of said concepts and therefore makes me well equiped to share that knowledge.

P.S. if you are coming to my place for a lesson, you should know I have a very friendly cat. so if you are allergic maybe its best if i come to you.

I would cater my lessons to each student and find out what guitarists/bands they like and what genres. This information is extremely valuble to keep one engaged in learning things like technique and theory. for example if a student was a fan of neil young, I would teach them the basic open chords and start working through a full song. Eventually, teaching them harmonic theory through chord progressions. As far as structure, i would spend the beginning of the lesson making sure the topics and excercises covered in the last lesson have been practiced and make sense. moving on to a new topic for the lesson, i would give musical context and examples with any new subject introduced. if learning arpeggios i would find an example of the technique used in a peice and create an etude for the student to practice along with maybe a few bars of notes from peice to practice aditionally. I myself love learning music theory and sharing details of how music functions and how it functions across different genres. Engagment in teaching is so import for the development of a musician, and with my passion and energy, i have the qualities to be a successful teacher.

Perfect! Amazing! Carlos is a perfect instructor for my son.
It takes a lot to keep him interested but Carlos is engaging and skilled.Perfect! My first class was wonderful, Thanks to him, I got interested in and inspired by guitar. Carlos is a very patient and easygoing teacher. His lessons are easy to follow yet still thorough. Would definitely recommend :)
Carlos is a very good guitar teacher. I am a beginner player and Carlos is very patient ; when i did not understand something, he found other ways to explain it to me. He taught me 5 lessons and i am sure i learned more during that time than 3 months i spent with another teacher. Carlos has a great sense of humor and is easy to talk to. It s is very obvious that he loves music and this shows in the way he teaches, he can be very technical but at the same time he is able to "dumb things down" to inexperienced players as myself.
One of the things that i struggled with was rhythm... Carlos was able to help me get through my mental blocks and his approach was "easy" and effective.
I would 100% recommend him as a tutor weather you are a beginner or experienced player.
do yourself a favor and have him teach you a few lessons.
