About Opemipo
I am a University of Toronto Mississauga student pursuing an Honors Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. I graduated from high school in Oakville with a 90+ average, completed a Not-for-Profit Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), and received both an entrance scholarship and a bursary to UTM.
I speak English proficiently as it is my first language. I moved to Canada from Nigeria four years ago, and as someone who successfully adjusted to a new academic environment, I understand what it feels like to need extra support. For two years, I served as a peer mentor, helping younger students academically and personally, which strengthened my patience and leadership skills.

I tutor all subjects from Grades 1–8, and for Grades 9–12, I specialize in Philosophy, History, Law, English, Religion, Accounting, and OSSLT preparation. My teaching style focuses on clear, step-by-step explanations, adapting to each student’s learning style, strengthening core skills, and building lasting academic confidence while having fun along the way.
My goal is to make learning interesting, because I know how it feels to be bored by school, and I hope I make the experience fun for all my future students.

Details
My standard rate is $25/hour. For high school students, rates may go up to $30/hour, and for specialized courses (grade 11 & 12), any special considerations or OSSLT preparation, rates can be as high as $35/hour. These rates are flexible. I’m always happy to discuss and find a rate that works for both student and family.
