About Aliyah

My academic qualifications, combined with my practical experience in political institutions, make me an ideal tutor. Having worked in the German Parliament and taken part in workshops in the United Nations and European Parliament, I have first-hand experience of how political institutions function. I have diverse knowledge of research methods, essay planning and execution. Those skills have helped me to support EPQ and thesis students. Before I start tuition, I contact my students to learn about special educational and language needs. This helps me to tailor each session to the needs of my students. I also take into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of my students. A typical lesson is 60 minutes long and often starts with a recap of prior knowledge. After that, I focus heavily on exam preparation, taking into consideration the mark scheme and examiner reports. I often prepare sample answers and writing frames to support extended essay questions. By sharing my screen to utilise prepared material and using Google Docs, I can engage with the students virtually, allowing me to see what they are writing simultaneously. In doing so, I can correct misunderstandings and mistakes immediately, using lesson time well. However, I am aware that some students struggle with anxiety and do not wish to share their screens or use their cameras in lessons. This is not a barrier in my tutoring and I have successfully accommodated students who experienced anxiety. Having tutored for more than 6 years I have extensive experience in supporting students from various backgrounds, this includes students from within the British education system as well as international students. My lessons are for A-Level and international A-Level students, EPQ and Bachelor students.
