About Barrett
With 5 years of ESL teaching experience, I have taught 150-200 high school and college students. Teaching English is more than a profession for me—it is a way to empower students, inspire confidence, and open doors to opportunities they may have thought were out of reach.
I focus on practical, interactive, and student-centred lessons. I use real-life examples, exercises, and discussions to help students develop speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills. I also emphasise building confidence, independence, and effective communication so students feel capable of expressing themselves in any context.
Some of my proudest achievements include students speaking fluently for the first time, improving exam results, writing confidently, and actively participating in discussions. Witnessing these successes motivates me to continually refine my teaching methods and create lessons that are both impactful and enjoyable.
I strive to provide a positive, encouraging, and inspiring environment where students feel motivated to learn, take risks, and grow. Teaching ESL is my passion, and I am committed to helping every student succeed academically while developing lifelong confidence and a love for English.
