About Nokwanda
I’m Teacher Nokwanda, online English teacher from South Africa. I have a background in Pre-Grade R teaching and 5 years of customer service at Rewardsco. My method is unique: I turn every sentence into a song so kids remember words faster. This helps students improve pronunciation, build confidence, and enjoy learning. My goal is to make English fun, simple, and unforgettable for every child.

*1. Warm-up with rhythm*
Start each lesson with a 1-minute clapping or tapping beat. Gets energy up and signals “English time”.
Example: Clap-clap “Hel-lo, how-are-you?”
*2. Turn target sentence into a song*
Pick 1 key sentence for the lesson. Add a simple melody or chant. Repeat it 3-4 times together.
Example: To teach “I like apples” → Sing to tune of “Twinkle Twinkle”: “I – like – ap-ples, yes I do”
*3. Add actions + visuals*
Every word in the song gets a gesture or picture. Kids remember through movement.
Example: Point to yourself for “I”, heart hands for “like”, hold fake apple for “apples”
*4. Student creates the next verse*
Ask them to swap 1 word and sing it back.
You: “I like apples” → Kid: “I like bananas” to same tune
*5. Mini performance + praise*
End by recording their “song sentence” or performing for a teddy/parent. Builds confidence fast.
*Why this works for kids:*
- *Melody = memory* – Songs stick better than plain repetition
- *Low pressure* – Singing feels like play, not a test
- *Uses your daycare skills* – Same energy you used in Pre-Grade R
*Class structure: 25-min lesson*
1. Hello song: 2 min
2. New sentence-song: 8 min
3. Game with actions: 10 min
4. Student solo + goodbye song: 5 min
