About Riya

As a pre-med student with three years of tutoring experience across STEM and writing, I strive to create a learning environment that is both supportive and motivating. I tutor biology, math through Algebra 2, English, and academic writing, focusing on helping students build genuine understanding and confidence rather than relying on memorization alone. My teaching style is patient, personalized, and interactive, allowing students to feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges at their own pace.

Beyond academics, my background in music and dance has shaped the way I teach. Years of performing, collaborating, and leading in choir and dance environments taught me discipline, communication, creativity, and how to adapt to different learning styles: skills I bring into every tutoring session. I understand that every student learns differently, and I enjoy finding approaches that make difficult concepts feel approachable and engaging.
